Frequently Asked Questions

In what language can the sessions be held?

I work in French and English.

How long do sessions usually last?

Individual sessions last 60 minutes. The couple or family sessions last 90 minutes.

What is the frequency of the sessions?

Between once a week and once every three weeks, depending on the situations and periods of life. Sometimes one needs closer support, while others more spaced sessions are preferable. We can agree together on the rhythm of the follow-up at the end of the first session.

What is the price of a session?

Sessions can now be covered by basic insurance, at the rate set by the LAMAL  (2.58CHF/min). For a 60min session (+5min file study), this amounts to 167.70CHF. For a 90min session (+10min file study), this amounts to 258CHF.  The price is modified according to the actual duration of the session. I operate as third-party payment, which means that I will send the invoice to your basic insurance which will pay the amount of it. Therefore, you do not need to pay at the end of the session. If you do not wish to be reimbursed by your basic insurance, please let me know and I will send you the invoices directly.

Are the sessions covered by health insurance?

Yes, basic insurance takes care of 90% of the follow-up, once your deductible has been reached.

What about confidentiality?

The sessions are subject to medical confidentiality. It can sometimes happen that I have to speak with your GP, your lawyer, or even your insurance company, but I will always ask for your agreement before talking with anyone. No information will be disclosed without your consent.

What is the cancellation policy?

Any appointment that has not been canceled at least 48 hours in advance will be billed to you, regardless of the reason for cancellation.

What age are the sessions designed for?

Individual and couple sessions are only done with adults. Teenagers are welcome to participate to family sessions as long as their parents (/parental authority) also take part in the sessions.

Can you prescribe medication or write a sick leave certificate?

No, I can't. Only doctors (general practitioners or psychiatrists) are able to prescribe medication and sick leaves.

What approaches are the sessions based on?

My work in psychotherapy is mainly based on two approaches: the systemic approach and Emotionally Focused Therapy. You can find more information about these approaches in the “about” section. My work in sex therapy is mainly based on the following approaches: Sexocorporel  and Positive Sexuality

I don't know if I should choose an individual, couple or family therapy ...

It may happen that during an individual session, I suggest that you invite some of your relatives to a session in order to be able to facilitate dialogue on certain subjects. If you come alone for the first session, this does not prevent the follow-up from including other people around you afterwards.

I would like to have couple or family sessions but my relatives refuse to come along...

You are welcome to come for a session on your own and your relatives might join you later on if they change their mind. Sometimes, it is also possible to work alone on relational dynamics.

What associations are you affiliated with?

Je suis reconnue par la Fédération Suisse des Psychologues, l'Association Vaudoise des Psychologues et par l’Association Suisse des Psychologues Sexologues Cliniciens.

How do I schedule a first session?

The easiest way to contact me is to send me an email (psydelvecchio@gmail.com). In your email, I recommend you include the following aspects: type of therapy (individual/couple/family), the themes you'd like to work on in session, preferred days/times for our appointments. If you prefer, you can also join me by phone (078 210 30 90 - please leave me a voicemail if you would like me to call you back).

What is the first meeting like?

I will welcome you in the waiting room. We will start by getting to know each other. First, I will tell you about my way of working, and then suggest that you introduce yourself and tell me what you'd like us to talk about in session. The first three sessions (approximately) give me a chance to start to know you and your situation, as well as allow you to know my approach. We will work on establishing a therapeutic contract together, i.e. to agree on the objectives/themes that we will address together. Were I to notice that the themes you wish to address do not correspond to my area of expertise, I will let you know and will gladly refer you to other therapists if you wish.
